Performance-Bar
Do the Right Thing is a three-part event with artists KimBo (Kim Bollag), Sarina Scheidegger and Kathrin Siegrist. Every first Wednesday of the month, feminism meets pop culture. The programme loosely refers to the socio-political commitment of the artist Camille Pissarro (1830-1903), whom the Kunstmuseum is currently showing, and transports it into the present. There will also be a bar and DJ sets by Avem.

Rapper KimBo is known for her danceable tracks with a lot of depth and wit. She raps in German and Italian, and everyone who wants to can join in. A pop-feminist evening with a bar and DJ set by Avem.

On 3 November, Sarina Scheidegger and Kathrin Siegrist will perform together with Franziska Baumgartner, Laurie Mlodzik and Iva Wili. The two artists focus on the theme of empowerment through friendship.

The artists Sarina Scheidegger and Kathrin Siegrist will also work together with Franziska Baumgartner, Laurie Mlodzik and Iva Wili on 1 December. They deal with language, painting, clothing, performance and feminist theory.

Ein Abend zu Ehren von Maja Oeri. Mit Festvortrag von Noam Elcott «Eine Gärtnerin der Kunst: Maja Oeri und die Museumsstadt Basel»
In German: Zum Abschluss ihrer 38-jährigen Tätigkeit in der Kunstkommission würdigen wir das beispiellose Engagement von Dr. h.c. Maja Oeri, deren Wirken die Museumsstadt Basel nachhaltig prägt. Mit grosser Hingabe fördert sie Kunst, Künstlerinnen und Künstler und ermöglichte den Neubau des Kunstmuseums Basel sowie den Laurenz-Bau. Ebenso sind ihr bedeutende Schenkungen von Kunstwerken an die Öffentliche Kunstsammlung Basel zu verdanken. In seinem Festvortrag Eine Gärtnerin der Kunst: Maja Oeri und die Museumsstadt Basel beleuchtet Dr. Noam M. Elcott, Professor für Kunstgeschichte an der Columbia University in New York, die vielfältigen Wechselbeziehungen, durch die die Kunst von der Vergangenheit bis in die Gegenwart getragen und ermöglicht wird. Der Festvortrag wird in deutscher Sprache gehalten. Mit einer Begrüssung von Regierungspräsident Dr. Conradin Cramer und einer Würdigung durch die Direktorin Dr. Elena Filipovic. Anschliessend Apéro mit Musik von Fabio Gouvea und Band. Einlass um 17.30 Uhr, Kostenlose Teilnahme, beschränkte Platzzahl.
