First explore the Museum yourself and then head for the studio – or the other way round? Every first Sunday of the month, our studio is open to anyone who before or after touring the Museum wishes to be creative, explore things, or experiment. The studio is run by two art educationalists who are at hand with support and advice and the one or other surprise.

Happy New Year!
At the start of the year, we reflect on our New Year's resolutions. What are we leaving behind in the old year? What do we want to continue investing in? We visualize our wishes for 2026 with words, drawings, and collages.

Tweet, tweet
Spring is in the air, and after their long flight over seas, deserts, and mountains, the birds are returning full of stories. We follow their tracks, invent bird creatures, build nests, and send our thoughts on journeys.

Every body is different. In the Open Studio, we invite you to playfully explore, reassemble, or question body images and feelings using collage, image fragments, and materials.

Painting Without Borders / XXL Painting
In the open studio, we’ll dive into a grand adventure full of color, impact, and expression: Inspired by Helen Frankenthaler’s color-field painting, we’ll discover what it means to paint large-scale works and how to use brushes, sponges, and scrapers in the process.
Sunday, 7.6.2026, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Hauptbau Atelier, Participation free of charge
Wild shapes
What happens to our art when we stop reproducing what we already know? In this studio, we let forms unfold freely and allow them to take on a life of their own. We draw, paint, or carve from blocks of soap freely, joyfully, and without a specific goal in mind: Do you trust the process?
Sunday, 27.6.2026, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Hauptbau Atelier, Participation free of charge
