Open Studio: Dots, Lines, Pop Art!
In the Open Studio, we explore how simple shapes, bold colours and short sentences can be transformed into striking images and narratives. Inspired by the works of artist Roy Lichtenstein, we experiment with dots, lines and his characteristic speech bubbles. We create our own comics and Pop Art that can be bold, colourful and entirely personal. Participation free of charge, no registration required

The term “comic” first appeared in the 18th century to describe humorous drawings. Inspired by Roy Lichtenstein, who was also deeply interested in this medium, we use painterly enlargements to shed new light on a wide variety of perspectives, details, and motifs from the museum’s collection and tell new stories. On the occasion of the special exhibition on art collector Gertrude Dübi-Müller, we will focus on modelling in November. Dübi-Müller was herself a photographer and was often portrayed by major artists of her time. Whether scaly or shimmering, deep-sea monsters or brightly glowing creatures – create your own marine inhabitants and help us transform the studio into a magical underwater world. Open Studio: Gifts That Shine
During winter, the nights grow longer and the stars shine all the brighter! Whether as coordinates for sailors, zodiac signs for astrologers or festive companions at Christmas – stars hold a special meaning all around the world. In the Open Studio, we explore this versatile symbol and create our own stars using paper, fabric, cardboard, wool or wood. We cut, fold, knot, build and experiment, creating all kinds of celestial bodies. In our little gift workshop, you can also make personal gifts for friends and family and wrap them straight away in your own handmade wrapping paper. Open to everyone.
