The term “comic” first appeared in the 18th century to describe humorous drawings. Inspired by Roy Lichtenstein, who was also deeply interested in this medium, we use painterly enlargements to shed new light on a wide variety of perspectives, details, and motifs from the museum’s collection and tell new stories. Freundschaften spielten im Leben der Sammlerin und Fotografin Gertrud Dübi-Müller eine zentrale Rolle. Auf zahlreichen Fotografien lichtete sie ihre Engsten ab und liess sich andererseits als Modell in den Werken ihrer befreundeten Künstler:innen verewigen. Gemeinsam entdecken wir in der Ausstellung ihre Fotografien sowie einige der Portraits, die etwa Cuno Amiet oder Ferdinand Hodler von Dübi-Müller fertigten. Kosten: CHF 10 / bis 16 Jahre: CHF 5.

Dübi-Müller was herself a photographer and was often portrayed by major artists of her time. From photographic self-portraits to life drawing, we will explore different portrait techniques and ask ourselves what it means to pose as a model for someone. Every Wednesday. Ages 14 and up.
