A series of walkshops with the collective "Hotel Regina" on the special exhibition "Dan Flavin. Dedications in Lights”. Each walkshop is followed by discussion rounds and dialogs with the collective.
How does light influence our everyday life in private and public spaces? Who and what is made visible or invisible by the urban light infrastructure? Where do we want to shed light on the dark?
In collaboration with the collective Hotel Regina, the Kunstmuseum Basel invites you to become part of the Urban Light Research Group. In a series of five walkshops, experts, urbanists, and artists accompany us, sharing their experiences, research practices, and visions around the topic of light. From different perspectives, we tie into Dan Flavin's artistic practice, explore it in an urban context, and question its relevance and sustainability.
Free of charge, free ticket registration recquired. The walkshops can also be attended individually. Open to all aged 16 and over

In German. Kostenlose Teilnahme, Ticket erforderlich via Ticketlink.

What lies in the shadows of Kunstmuseum Basel and what needs to be illuminated? Beyond its acclaimed collection and exhibitions, the Kunstmuseum Basel thrives on the often unseen efforts and intricate workings that maintain its influence and legacy. In this walkshop, we want to question and uncover these vital yet hidden aspects of the museum’s operation. The Unofficial Hiking Society AG invites you to a night tour around the museum to shed light not only on the façade but also on unofficial narratives of the institution.
