Please note that strollers are not permitted inside the museum. You can leave your strollers in the supervised stroller parking area to the right of the main entrance to the Hauptbau.

The ghosts are out!

This fall, Family Day is going to be spooky! Carve yourself a talisman to protect you from evil spirits, or transform yourself into a little ghost. Write your own haunted story in the writing workshop, or turn your scariest “boo!” into a spooky soundtrack in the HitProducer recording studio. You can also let our invisible museum ghost guide you through the collection, browse our reading corners, or dance to hidden sounds with others in the silent disco.

On Family Day, admission to the museum is free, with the exception of the special exhibition Ghosts (reduced price). All Family Day program items outside the special exhibition are also free of charge.

Family Day is generously supported by the Friends of the Kunstmuseum Basel.

Through the museum with the ghost
There's a ghost in the Kunstmuseum! Put on your headphones and join our invisible guide on a tour of the collection.

Crawling, scooting, climbing
A free play and movement zone for babies and toddlers aged 0 to 3 years.

Create your own ghost story—whether as a text or picture story, painted or as a collage.

Dance of the Ghosts
Move to hidden sounds in our silent disco or watch the action in eerie silence from the edge of the dance floor.
