Dorian Sari
Whistle, 2020
Dorian Sari (* 1989) created the current work for the LED fries on Neubau, which shows the names of cities in Turkey and Syria. The displayed cities were all destroyed in the devastating earthquake on February 6, 2023. In addition to the work on the fries Sari created an edition called Whistle, which focuses on the whistle as an aid in dangerous situations. Kunstmuseum Basel will donate all proceeds from the sale of this edition to the earthquake victims.

The whistle is used in many regions of the world to call for help in an emergency. Sari destroyed the object. They address how people deprive themselves of their own voice – out of fear or oppression.
All proceeds from the sale of the edition created for Kunstmuseum Basel will go to Swiss Solidarity for the benefit of the earthquake victims.
