Have you ever seen an abstract portrait? That is, one where the person shown does not look exactly as he or she does in reality. Paul Klee, for example, painted his "Senecio" in an abstract way – it's one of the most famous paintings here in the Kunstmuseum and consists mainly of geometric shapes such as the triangle, circle or square.

Now it's your turn! Can you create an abstract portrait of yourself?

To accompany the exhibition Picasso, Chagall, Jawlensky, our Education & Mediation department has designed a hands-on booklet to encourage children to playfully interact with our collection. The museum is now closed – but you can also get involved with art at home! That's why we provide activity sheets for downloading and printing - for children and everyone else who enjoys it.
