Sophie Taeuber-Arp and Hans Arp were united by love, art and the path to abstraction. While Hans Arp is considered the most influential protagonist of 20th century sculpture, Sophie Taeuber-Arp's artistic work permeates all areas of life.
Works by the artist couple are currently on display at both the Kunstmuseum Basel and the Fondation Beyeler: While the Fondation Beyeler is placing Hans Arp's works in dialogue with Auguste Rodin's sculptures until 16 May, the Kunstmuseum Basel is presenting Sophie Taeuber-Arp's comprehensive oeuvre until 20 June, including a room on the "Aubette" cultural centre in Strasbourg, which Taeuber-Arp designed together with her husband and Theo van Duisburg.
